About Duck Duck Goat

Chef Stephanie Izard brings her version of reasonably authentic Chinese food to Chicago's West Loop.

Duck Duck Goat is a chinese restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. It is listed at 857 W Fulton Market, Chicago, IL 60607, which places it among the local businesses of Chicago that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 4:30–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (312) 902-3825. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, duckduckgoatchicago.com.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 5,689 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded chinese restaurants in Chicago.

Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chicago follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Amazing experience from start to finish. The food was perfectly cooked and packed with bold, well-balanced flavors. Great atmosphere, attentive service, and an overall fun vibe. Everything we ordered was excellent. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!

Beautiful space with super nice service. Had a res but still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Unfortunately the food was a bit underwhelming. The lamb noodles were super super doughy. Literally sticking to my mouth and everything else, it was like chewing gum almost. Taste was good but hard to overlook that texture. The Chongqing chicken was NOT what Chongqing chicken is supposed to be. Not only that it tasted just okay. Sadly, the best dish out of the ones I ordered was the cucumber the portions were small (besides the mapo tofu) for how much they cost Great place to try but don’t think I’d go back over other places in the area

The Chinese food was excellent! Every dish had its own unique and interesting flavor. My favorite was the noodles. The portions were so generous that I was already full before dessert, so I'd say you can skip it( it was mostly ice cream not cake)

I went here for my anniversary and the atmosphere of the place was really pretty! We got the bao buns, duck fried rice, chicken wings, the chili chicken and the banana dessert (10/10). The portions were really good and huge so I recommend not over doing it when you order. And I would deff come back again for the bao buns and dessert! The only reason I gave it a four stars was because one of the workers had made us move seats, which I found weird since we were already mid eating. Me and my boyfriend were sitting in the same side of the booth not even pass the table or in anyone’s way or space to get out and we were told that we couldn’t do that because we were ruining the flow of traffic by sitting next to each other. But we didn’t want to make a big deal so we just said okay. But when my bf had moved across from me, the waitress could no longer really reach the other table since now my bf is in his β€œdesignated” seat and he’s somewhat in the way because the other table was like a corner table. So every time a worker gave something to the other table they kept accidentally bumping into my bf. So I’m just confused how sitting next to each other ruined the flow of traffic when in real

Overall, I was quite pleased with the overall dining experience today. While the prices are on the higher side and parking is hard to find on a busy Thursday night, the food is quite good. I was especially pleased with the glass noodles and the moo shu. I thought the tofu was a bit one note, but everything else was enjoyable and I would recommend this place for vegetarians. The banana dumplings were an excellent way to end the meal, given the strong flavors from the savory courses. Overall, happy that I finally made it here and will be excited to bring my friends who enjoy duck to come check it out.
